Boot Camp Graduation
This will be one of the greatest days of your life. You will have survived the constant physical and mental demands thrown at you, the never-ending yelling and screaming by the Drill Instructors, the academic overload, the extremely challenging Crucible and much more than the average person would dare to attempt. You will have every reason to be proud of yourself. This is the day that you should be focused on during your entire stay at boot camp.
Graduation will be held on the parade deck and you will perform several practices before the actual event. My favorite part of graduation was when the band played the Marines hymn. Hearing this for the first time as a Marine made me even more proud of what I had accomplished. You will probably feel a lot of emotion on that day as I did. You can finally shake the hands of the Drill Instructors who trained you. No more yelling, screaming or IPT. The other great part about that day is being reunited with your loved ones. They will notice how much you have changed. You will carry yourself a little different, talk different and have an unbelievable amount of self-confidence…you will be a
